Sonarome
Sonarome has spent four decades perfecting how products taste and smell. We made sure the first thing the world sees of them is just as refined.
Since 1979 · Serving 4 Continents · Custom WordPress Theme
Bringing a 45-year flavour and fragrance legacy to the global stage
Since 1979, Sonarome has been crafting the flavours and fragrances that sit inside products people use every day, from beverages and snacks to personal care and home care. The family-run business grew from a single Bangalore unit into a certified, export-ready manufacturer with spray-drying capacity, an in-house R&D team, and partners who have stayed for over two decades.
Their work is invisible by design. A consumer never sees Sonarome’s name, only tastes and smells the result. That makes the website one of the few places where the brand itself gets to be seen.

A world-class manufacturer, with a website that undersold it
Sonarome was stepping into a new chapter: new international partnerships, larger global customers, and a stage shared with century-old European flavour houses. Their buyers are R&D heads, procurement teams and brand owners who judge a supplier’s credibility long before the first sample is sent.
The old website was built for a different era. It read like a product catalogue and, next to global competitors, looked like a local supplier rather than a partner to multinational brands. The brief came down to three problems:
Credibility gap: the site did not reflect 45 years of expertise, certifications or international clients.
No global brand standard: visuals, tone and structure were inconsistent with what a global partner would expect.
Hard to navigate: flavours and fragrances, two very different buyer journeys, were mixed together with no clear path to enquiry.
Our approach
We studied how the world’s leading flavour and fragrance houses present themselves online. They sell trust and imagination, not a product list. We then mapped Sonarome’s two core audiences:
Flavour buyers in food and beverage, who want application know-how, consistency and compliance.
Fragrance buyers in personal and home care, who are drawn in by mood, story and creative range.
Key insights that shaped the work
Heritage is the differentiator. Few Indian players can claim 45 years of family-led craft.
Proof beats claims. Certifications, testimonials from three continents and real numbers had to be visible.
Two senses, two journeys. Flavours and fragrances deserved their own worlds, joined by one brand system.
The site must speak to local buyers and to international partners measuring Sonarome against global standards.
A sensory experience, translated to the screen
You can’t smell a website. So every design decision had to make a visitor feel taste and scent instead.
Information architecture
We rebuilt the site around how buyers actually decide: Home, Flavours, Fragrances, The Sonarome Story, Media, Careers and Contact. A persistent Contact Us and brochure download keep every journey one click from an enquiry.
Visual language
Imagery as the hero: macro botanicals, vanilla pods, fresh leaves and glass flacons that signal natural origin and premium craft.
A calm, international palette led by a deep brand blue and generous white space.
Editorial typography with statement headlines like “Scent That Speaks” and “Taste The Difference”.
Signature moments
Rotating hero banners that introduce flavours and fragrances as two sensory stories, with dedicated mobile artwork.
An “Our Evolution” timeline that turns 45 years of milestones, from 1979 to today, into a scroll-driven story.
Proof up front: live counters and a certifications strip (FSSAI, GMP, Kosher and more).
Testimonials from partners in India, Kenya and the Middle East, some spanning over 20 years.
A CSR gallery showing education programmes across 11 adopted villages and schools, and a leadership grid that puts real people behind the brand.
The build
We skipped templates entirely. Every page was hand-built as a custom WordPress theme, so the live site matches the design pixel for pixel while staying simple for Sonarome’s team to update.
Custom theme with no page-builder bloat, for faster loads.
Banners, timeline, counters, testimonials, CSR stories and team profiles are all editable from the dashboard.
Mobile-first, with WebP imagery throughout.
WooCommerce-ready foundations, Google Tag Manager tracking and a structure built to grow.
Sonarome now looks the way it performs
Global-grade from day one: a brand presence that stands comfortably beside the world’s leading flavour houses.
Ready for the world stage: built to meet international brand standards as Sonarome expanded its global partnerships.
45 years, finally visible: four decades of heritage turned into a story buyers can scroll through.
Two sensory worlds, one brand: clear, separate journeys for flavour and fragrance buyers.
Trust at first glance: certifications, client voices and leadership now front and centre.
Zero developer dependency: Sonarome’s team updates banners, stories and milestones on their own.
The new website gives Sonarome’s sales team something they never had before: a digital first impression that opens doors in boardrooms from Nairobi to Dubai to Grasse.
